Although Elizabeth began designing and making jewelry only recently, she has been a rock hound since she was old enough to haul ocean-tumbled stones home from the beach. Her jewelry reflects her lifelong passion for the natural beauty of stones and minerals. Every piece she makes starts with the rocks themselves – her collection ranges from earthy jaspers to brilliant quartzes and includes oddities (like the bright purple, speckled sugilite) and classics (like her stock of authentic gemstones: rubies, sapphires and emeralds, among others) – and the design strives to bring out the beauty and drama captured in each polished example of nature’s creative flair. No two pieces of jewelry are alike because no two stones are ever alike.
To complement her stones and gems, Elizabeth’s work often incorporates other natural materials like wood, shell, bone and horn, as well as Czech & Lampwork glass beads. You will never see a lab-made or man-made “gem” in her work, however – her philosophy is real people with real fashion sense deserve real jewelry made from real materials.
